With the support of investors including Xilinx, NGCodec’s agile startup team has created RealityCodec™, a compressor-decompressor technology optimized for ultra-low latency, high-quality applications. Oliver Gunasekara


Oliver Gunasekara has over 20 years experience in marketing and business development with technology companies. In 1995, he joined ARM to lead its mobile activities, initially working in Europe and then later in Japan and Silicon Valley. Over 12 years at ARM, Oliver licensed HW and SW to both semiconductor companies and mobile OEM’s and delivered a de facto standard for mobile CPU’s. His last role at ARM was Vice President of Corporate Business Development and M&A. In 2007, he joined video H.264 startup W&W Communications as Vice President of Mobile business (acquired by Cavium). Prior to founding NGCodec, he was a business development consultant to a number of mobile startups in the OS, security, imaging, and battery areas.

Oliver holds a Bachelor's degree with honors in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Greenwich, London, UK and a Mini-MBA from the AeA/Executive Institute, Stanford University Graduate School of Business.


Brian Angell


Brian Angell, with over 30 years experience in 3D, Video, Compute, and AI, has built and managed many engineering departments from startups to well-established companies.  Brian first worked at Fairchild Semiconductor where he was introduced to ECL gate array technology.  Brian then joined Sun Microsystems developing 3D Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC).  After 8 years at Sun, he joined a new startup, 3DFX, one of the original PC 3D accelerator card companies.  While at 3DFX, Brian served as the Director of Consumer Products and was responsible for architecture and design. Later, Brian gained additional technical and leadership experience in several leading-edge technology companies.  In 2002, Brian was recruited by NVIDIA executive management to build the engineering side of NVIDIA’s Mobile Business Unit as its Vice President, Engineering.  Brian spent over 10 years at NVIDIA and was instrumental in building the video, GPU, SOC, and low power design teams which formulated the TEGRA SOC found in multiple devices and automobiles.


Pavel Novotny


Pavel Novotny has 20 years of experience working in video broadcast industry. Starting his carrier with PixStream and VideoLocus, a startup focused on developing an H.264 based product. Pavel helped to develop the world's first real-time hardware H.264 video encoder. After being acquired by LSlogic, Pavel moved to developing  ASIC-based video encoders and decoders. Later Pavel helped to start Algorithms group and defined effective processes and developed tools for video encoding solutions. Leading a team designing and developing a multi-chip real-time HD H.264 and MPEG2 encoder. After being acquired by Magnum Semiconductor, Pavel developed many state-of-the-art products ranging from low-latency contribution encoders, motion compensated temporal filters, high-VQ H.264 and HEVC broadcast encoders and statistical multiplexors.

Pavel holds Master's degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Brno University of Technology in Czech Republic.

Adam Malamy


Adam Malamy is a Silicon Valley veteran with over 20 years experience in Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) architecture, design, verification, and all phases of semiconductor development. He started his career at Sun Microsystems designing SPARC microprocessors. In 1994, he joined the 3DO company and helped develop one of the first 32-bit 3D graphics engine ASICs. He gained experience and seniority in a series of startup companies in the areas of microprocessor design and networking. In 2006, Adam joined W&W Communications and played a leading role in developing that company’s H.264 encoder and decoder FPGA and ASIC products. Before founding NGCodec Adam held the position of Director of Engineering in charge of Verification at Cavium, which acquired W&W Communications in 2008.

Adam has a BSEE and MSEE degree, both from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. 


Ian Jefferson


Ian Jefferson has been involved in the video industry for many years. He has been instrumental in driving business and new technologies.  
His career has taken him around the world, he has relationships at the highest levels in the broadcast industry of North America, Europe and Asia.
His history of Sales and Business Development with start-ups like Imedia and Entone led to both companies being sold to Nasdaq listed corporations. At these corporations which include Terayon, Harmonic Inc and Integrated Device Technologies (IDT) Ian held senior roles in Business Development. HIs most recent position was heading up sales of the Magnum video encoding products for IDT where he delivered multiple millions dollars of revenue.

Neil Belmore, Investor

Neil is co-founder of Belmore Capital. Prior to establishing Belmore Capital, Neil practiced patent litigation law with a major Canadian law firm.  He subsequently founded a patent litigation law firm Belmore Neidrauer LLP and has represented both tech and life sciences companies. Neil is consistently selected by peers as a leading advocate amongst intellectual property litigators, including in the 2014 Lexpert/American Lawyer Guide to the Leading 500 Lawyers in Canada and LawDay’s 35 Leading Lawyers in Canada - Intellectual Property Litigation. 

Neil holds a BA (High Honours) and an LLB from Osgoode Hall, Toronto.


Matthew Belmore, Investor

Matthew is co-founder of Belmore Capital. Prior to establishing Belmore Capital, Matthew obtained the CSC designation from the Canadian Securities Institute and is currently pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation from the CFA Institute. 

Matthew holds a BSc. (Physics and Math) and has pursued an additional year focusing on economics, from Queens University, Kingston, Canada.



Dan Lankford, Independent

Dan Lankford has more than 30 years of experience in technology companies as an executive, board member and investor. Dan has been CEO of 4 companies and chairman of 2 others.  These include a European semi-conductor company that grew from $15M to $250M in 5 years and an energy technology company that Dan took from start-up through IPO into commercial operation, including building a 100,000 sq. ft factory.  Recently he was founder and CEO of Element Energy, a battery management HW/SW company that had a successful sale to Maxim Semiconductor.  He spent his early career at AT&T and Bell Labs.  

Dan has a BS with honors from Johns Hopkins University and an MS as a Sloan Fellow from Stanford Business School.

Design & Reuse

OpenCAPI Consortium

The OpenCAPI Consortium is an open forum to manage the OpenCAPI specification and ecosystem. OpenCAPI is a not-for-profit organization formed in October 2016 by OpenCAPI Board Members AMD, Google, IBM, Mellanox Technologies and Micron to create an open coherent high performance bus interface based on a new bus standard called Open Coherent Accelerator Processor Interface (OpenCAPI) and grow the ecosystem that utilizes this interface. This initiative is being driven by the emerging accelerated computing and advanced memory/storage solutions that have introduced significant system bottlenecks in today’s current open bus protocols and requires a technical solution that is openly available.
